In order to meet the public safety needs of correctional
customers, we work in coordination with onsite medical staff and custody staff to ensure the balance between safety and appropriate access to medical care is achieved. We attain this goal by focusing on key correctional solutions:

• Double check schedules prior to appointment date to ensure that no unnecessary offsite transports are made
  
• Assist custody staff with the organization and maintenance of the facility’s classification system
  
• Coordinate offsite transports to maximize the number of offender patients on each transport, thus working to minimize the number of local/offsite trips
  
• If desired, MDI can develop real-time interactive classification driven scheduling profiles that allow unit medical staff the ability to maintain onsite and offsite referrals in a secure manner
